One Team - One Vision
The 2015 DTM season will soon be under way. The Mercedes-AMG DTM Team intends to pursue a common goal.
Hockenheim. The lights go out. Engines roar. Fans cheer. It will all be happening in a few days time when the 2015 DTM adventure begins. The new season offers one thing above all to fans whether at home in front of their television sets or in the stands at the track – more racing action. This year’s programme features a total of 18 races. “I am particularly pleased for the fans who will get 100% more DTM racing action this season with two races per weekend,” said Head of Mercedes DTM Ulrich Fritz. The hunt for points can begin.
The DTM is more than just a race series. Exciting wheel-to-wheel battles, spectacular overtaking manoeuvres, surprise winners. Fans share a passion for touring car racing just like the drivers. “For me personally, the winter break was too long,” said Daniel Juncadella. “It’s been ages since I competed in a DTM race and I’m looking forward to the new season.” Drama, action and adrenalin. Here we go again.
100% more racing. That applies not just to this season with twice the number of races per weekend. The races themselves also promise more action out on the racetrack. DRS can now be deployed three times per lap. The driver following can use DRS to set his rear wing flatter and increase his chances of overtaking. Three chances to use DRS per lap will ensure more exciting scraps between drivers. “I’m all fired up for the 2015 season,” said Robert Wickens. “Everyone on the team is fully motivated, keen to have a good season.”
Eight drivers, three racing teams, one big family. The Mercedes-AMG DTM Team will start the new season with eight cars. The two DTM rookies Lucas Auer and Maximilian Götz are new to the team. They will line up alongside tried and trusted DTM drivers Daniel Juncadella, Gary Paffett, Paul Di Resta, Christian Vietoris, Pascal Wehrlein and Robert Wickens. “We work collectively,” said Paul Di Resta. Pascal Wehrlein agreed with him: “We want to try to push to the limits, and we must be a strong team to achieve that.”
We all pull together with a common goal in mind no matter what the colour of the Mercedes-AMG C 63 DTM might be: “Each individual team member will do his bit and go the extra mile to ensure that Mercedes-Benz secure the DTM championship again,” said DTM rookie Maximilian Götz. “Mercedes will become the place to be in the next couple of years,” added Christian Vietoris. We’ll see what challenges the new DTM season has in store for them in the 18 races that follow. One thing is already certain: The Mercedes-AMG DTM Team has a common goal, echoing the company maxim: “The best or nothing”.
